Bitevex has been licensed as a digital asset provider in Spain

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp received a license as a service provider on the digital asset market in Spain. The Block writes about it.

The company can carry out operations throughout Spain in full compliance with AML and CTF regulations. The regulator will also monitor compliance with commercial and professional reputation standards.

In addition, Bitstamp has pledged to comply with new requirements for digital asset-related advertising.

The review of the application began in January.

According to Bitstamp CEO Jean-Baptiste Graftio, the license in Spain was the 50th for the Luxembourg-based bitcoin exchange.

Recall that Binance received a similar permit from the Bank of Spain in July.

In October, members of the EU Council signed a bill on the regulation of cryptocurrencies MiCA. The document includes rules that apply to issuers of unsecured cryptoassets, stabelcoins, trading and custodial platforms.

The text of the bill must be formally approved by the European Parliament. It is expected to be published in the official journal of the EU in early 2023 before it takes effect from 2024.
